The brick Eastern Star Baptist Church on Howard Street

Since 1911

115 years at the Star

Eastern Star Baptist Church stands as a beacon of faith in Louisville: a place of prayer, peace and joy to all who join us.

Faithful living

Who we are

Our church was established in 1911 and has stood as a prominent part of the community since that time. It is our motto that “If we strive together, we will arrive together!”

Our community is richly diverse, with people of different ages and backgrounds coming together to worship and serve together. We welcome all individuals seeking God’s love, and our doors are open to every soul seeking to welcome Jesus into their heart.

In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians it was written that God’s plan was to bring all of creation together, everything in heaven and on earth, with Christ as the head. So if at any time we can be of service to you and your family, feel free to reach out to us.

Our pastor

Rev. Marcus S. Moses

Eastern Star is under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Marcus S. Moses, whose vision is for the church to continue to be of service, not only in our community but throughout the city of Louisville. Pastor Marcus leads Bible study every Wednesday night at 6.

“We must remember that to live like God means that we live differently & we should be proud to speak of his goodness. So we must spread our wings and soar as God would want us to, wanting the best because eagle's don't hang with chickens!”

Rev. Marcus S. Moses, Pastor
